Congress’s story

Congress works the night shift at the Printer Ranch, when the printers hum and the barn goes dark. The printers get a little lonely at three in the morning, so Congress opens that cape and hands out tiny hugs. Congress calls them security checks. Everybody knows they are hugs. Best buddy Armie curls up when things get loud, and Congress keeps watch until morning.

Armie’s story

Armie is the bravest explorer at the Printer Ranch, right up until a printer beeps. Then comes his one move: a quick shallow curl, a peek, and a slow uncurl to check that everything is fine. It always is. Every night Armie explores the barn with his buddy Congress, who makes him feel brave again.

Mr. Coyote’s story

Mr. Coyote is the night singer at the Printer Ranch. He thinks every printer deserves a lullaby, so when the lights go low he tips his head back and sings a very quiet awooo. He knows a song for every printer in the barn. When something goes missing, Mr. Tarantula finds it, and Mr. Coyote sings it home.

Mr. Tarantula’s story

Mr. Tarantula keeps the lost-and-found at the Printer Ranch. Anything that drops off a printer, a tiny piece, a stray screw, a forgotten hat, ends up safe with him. Eight legs means eight high-fives, and he likes to give them all at once. Visitors usually scream when they meet him. Then they ask for a hug.
